The last paragraph is a hauntingly beautiful. When AI generated content looks line real human created content. We would never know if we are the only human in a dead internet

I am so obsessed with lost media/liminality/what the teens call "dream core"... I remember I wrote about it years ago back when I had 0 Substack audience because it was so fascinating to me. Loved this as usual!

Love the idea of The Backrooms as "endless inside, the endless empty." I wonder if they serve as a (retrospective) figure for our older anxieties about clicking through a Dead Internet alone, endless pages, chasing an elusive rabbit down the hole... but there's something nostalgic about that too, as that sort of hopeless endless 'room-browsing' has been replaced by the infinite scroll. Anyways: great read.
